Blueberry Banana Oats with Hemp + Almond Butter



It's finally the weekend and I'm back in Nashville! I whipped up this quick dish while waiting for my banana bread to bake in the oven. Nothing says weekend like making a bunch of dessert...well, at least to me.

What's good about this bowl? It's full of fiber, protein, healthy fats (including omega 3's!), antioxidants, and plant based natural sugars. Oats are my absolute go-to for breakfasts, as they're so quick and easily customizable.

I cooked these oats with vanilla almond milk, and topped them with hemp seeds, blueberries, sliced banana + a dash of shredded coconut. Oh, and a lot of almond butter, cause you've just got to!


  • 2/3 C oats
  • 1 1/3 C plant based milk of choice
  • 1 banana, split
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • 1/4 C blueberries
  • 1 TB almond butter
  • 1 TB hemp seeds


  1. Heat oats and milk on stove until boiling, then cover and simmer until liquid is absorbed.
  2. When oats are done, take off heat and mash 1/2 the banana into them, and stir until combined with vanilla. You can stir the almond butter into the oatmeal or drizzle on top. (Or both!)
  3. Slice the other half of the banana and top the oatmeal with the slices, the blueberries, and hemp seeds.
